THE PROBLEM:

Preactor fundamentally changes the role of the scheduler. Over the years Preactor has created a library of tools that are designed to help the scheduler work faster and smarter. Knowing how and when to use these tools can have a profound impact on your ability to create better and smarter schedules.

The Power User Course is a completely different approach to training schedulers in that it gives schedulers hands-on experience with tools that improve their day to day effectiveness as opposed to learning how to best model your factory.

The Power User Course is a must for new schedulers and is strongly recommended for schedulers with less than two years of experience. It is also recommended for schedulers who want to refresh their skills and keep up-to-date with the latest tools from Preactor in v12
Power Users may also want to take the new Basic Reporting course.

In addition to handling the day to day work, the scheduler needs to play a key role in the evolution of your Preactor solution. This course is also designed to help schedulers think about ways they can improve the scheduling process.

THE PROBLEM:

Preactor contains a vast amount of useful scheduling information not found in any of your other systems. This information is only useful if it can be presented to those who need it in a format that they can understand.

The new Power Reporting Course gives you the tools you need to find the data you need and the ability to present it in the format you want.

The new syllabus includes:

  • Introduction to Visual Studio and to scheduling
  • Introduction to Preactor Schema [Tables, links]
  • Report creation using the Reporting Wizard
  • Report deployment to Preactor and Reporting Services environments
  • SQL and basic transformation functions

The Reporting course is for Preactor Power Users who have taken at least the User Training Course and need to be able to generate reports and for those who don’t have direct access to Preactor.

Any Preactor user could benefit from the ability to create custom reports.
